PORE REDUCTION

The laser pore reduction treatment is a gentle and safe option that can be used to even skin tone and texture, and effectively shrink the size of pores. The wavelengths and heat levels can be altered on our lasers in order to treat the pores based on your skin type.

WHAT ARE PORES?

The small round holes on your face, pores, are actually the openings of hair follicles. Each one contains a sebaceous gland, which produces your skin’s oils. Pores are more noticeable on parts of the face, like the forehead and the nose, where the sebaceous glands are bigger.

HOW ARE THEY FORMED?

The main cause of enlarged pores is excessive sebum production. Each pore contains a sebaceous (oil) gland that secretes sebum. And when sebaceous glands produce excess oil, it leads to oily skin. Although sebum acts as a natural moisturizer for the skin, excess production is a big problem.

LASER SOLUTIONS

At Ovo, we offer the Spectra Laser and Fotona Laser to reduce pores by heating the collagen under the skin’s surface, causing the skin to contract, and pores to shrink.

The Spectra pore minimizing treatment consists of 2 steps:

1. Targeting pores on cheeks, chin, and t-zone

After we clean your skin, we use a laser to go over targeted pore areas in small circular motion. This step shrinks the oil glands and stimulates collagen from deep underneath your skin to help permanently reduce the pores diameter. Gradually you will notice plumper and firmer looking skin with minimized pores and oil production.

Step 2: Laser toning

After completing step one we move on to laser toning. This step helps reduce pigmentation and redness. Laser toning will improve overall skin tone, reduce appearance of acne scars, smoothen out the skins surface, and provide an overall glowing, youthful looking skin. The overall procedure is very comfortable with no downtime or side effects. 4-6 sessions recommended.

The Fotona pore minimizing treatment consists of 1 step:

Targeting the entire face

After we prep your skin, we use a microlaser peel to gently remove the rough surface of the skin and to stimulate collagen from deep in your tissues to tighten and reduce the diameter of the pores. After a few days of slight redness, you will see new tissue growth, with firmer, smoother looking skin. At least 3 sessions recommended.

MICRONEEDLING

Microneedling is a safe and effective method for reducing the appearance of enlarged pores. The micro injuries to the skin caused by microneedling trigger the skin’s own wound healing response. The skin naturally produces new collagen and elastin. This creates the appearance of smaller pores and tighter skin. At least 3-6 sessions is recommended.

Potenza™ RF Microneedling is the latest generation of RF Microneedling and shows remarkable results for pores and acne scars. POST CARE

Avoid washing face for a few hours and be very gentle when washing.
Do not take hot showers for 24-48 hours.
Do not exfoliate for at least 2 weeks.
Moisturize well and drink plenty of water to keep skin hydrated. This encourages faster healing and less downtime.
Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 2 weeks and no tanning for 4 weeks.
Wear a physical sunblock with at least SPF 50 and apply every 2 hours when you are outside.
