Platelet-Rich-Fibrin PRF
Who can benefit from PRF treatments?
Everyone can benefit from PRP and PRF treatments. As long as you are healthy and you do not have any blood disorders, then you are a good candidate. PRF can help repair damaged skin from the inside. Key structures and components responsible for keeping skin looking and feeling youthful will begin to gradually decline once you turn 25. PRF delivers a multitude of skin benefits such as providing natural growth factors to stimulate cell renewal. PRF is very safe because there is no foreign substance and you are using your own body’s platelets so there is no risk of allergic reactions. Before your treatment, it is important to disclose any medication, supplements, and health issues that may affect your results. The treatment takes approximately an hour, and you will see results immediately.
How soon will I see results?
Results will start to show immediately post procedure, and your body will continue to build collagen over the next 3-4 months.
How long does it last?
The benefits you receive from PRF typically last up to a year with a series of 3 treatments, and this also depends on age, skin condition, and lifestyle factors.
How many treatments will I need?
We usually recommend an average of 3 sessions for the most optimal long-lasting results. The number of suggested sessions may differ depending on the individual, and will be recommended accordingly during your complimentary skin consultation.
What to Expect During the Procedure
Our physician will draw your blood and place it into a centrifuge in order to separate the red blood cells and platelets. A fibrin matrix will then be added to create the PRF. The PRF will be injected into the appropriate area(s). Numbing will be provided.

Platelet-Rich-Fibrin PRF
PRF, or Platelet-Rich-Fibrin, is the most recent innovation used to plump up your skin. Just like PRP Platelet-Rich-Plasma, it takes advantage of the natural healing properties of your own blood components. The only difference is that PRF has a coagulant and is thicker, and allows a slower release of the platelets. PRF treatments can help improve the condition of your skin by addressing a variety of issues, such as the treatment of facial wrinkles, hollowness, scars, textural inconsistency, and sagging skin. It can also treat reduced volume around the eyes, dark circles, and other issues.
How is it made?
To make PRF, a small amount of blood is drawn from your arm. It is spun in a centrifuge and the platelets are separated and placed in a PRF tube that coagulates the platelets, allowing it to become more jelly-like and less watery than PRP.
How does PRF work?
PRF injections contain large amounts of platelets, fibrin, certain stem cells, and white blood cells which aid in internal skin healing and regeneration. It works by slowly releasing these ingredients into your tissue, making it last longer than PRP. In medical aesthetics, we can use PRF alone, or combine it with other treatments to give you better and longer-lasting results.
What to Expect From Treatment
Prior to treatment, be sure to avoid alcoholic beverages for 24 hours, as well as anti-inflammatory and blood-thinning medications, as they can increase the chances of bruising. Before your appointment, refrain from wearing makeup, and drink more water before your session.
During treatment, patients will have a small amount of blood drawn from their arms. This is then spinned and separated by a centrifuge, and the high concentration of platelets are separated. The PRF is delivered into the desired area using a syringe or microneedling device.
Upon the application of PRF, collagen begins to heal the skin, and patients should notice tightening almost immediately. The procedure lasts about 45 minutes to an hour, and there is little downtime.
Some people may experience flushed skin or bruising in the area of injection, and this will go away in a couple of days. Refraining from alcohol and blood thinners will minimize this occurrence. Using arnica tablets or arnica cream can help your skin heal even faster.
The skin’s appearance and texture continues to improve for several weeks following treatment, and it is recommended to go for 3-4 sessions up to 6 weeks apart, to see results lasting up to 12 months or more.
Why Should You Try PRF?
Produce More Collagen and Elastin
Collagen and elastin are the building blocks that keep your skin tight and smooth. Aging, UV light, and pollution can all reduce the amount of collagen and elastin produced by the body. This causes wrinkles, fine lines, under-eye bags, and creases to develop. PRF is a natural solution to strengthening your skin barrier and improving your skin health.
Eliminate Wrinkles And Improves Volume Loss
PRF is an excellent way to improve the appearance of wrinkles and volume loss. Over the course of a few weeks, you will also see brighter and smoother skin. The best thing about PRF is that you will see immediate results.
Treats Under-Eye Loose Skin And Dark Circles
PRF treats the signs of aging in the under-eye area by filling the hollow area. PRF increases moisture and blood flow to the tissue, reducing visibility of dark circles.
Treats Acne Scars And Improves Skin Texture
It reduces the visibility of skin scars by the stimulation of collagen and elastin, tightening and repairing the tissue at the same time.
The Results Are Long-Lasting
A series of 3 to 4 treatments are recommended a month apart, and results can last up to a year. However, because everyone’s skin differs, the results may last for a longer period of time.
There Are Minimal Risks Or Side Effects
There are no risks or side effects to the PRF procedure because it’s your own blood.
What are the Benefits of PRF?
PRF treatment can give your skin these advantages:
- It provides support for the soft tissue beneath the sensitive skin surrounding the eyes. The skin around your eyes is very thin and subject to aging faster. By using PRF to help restore lost volume and fill in wrinkles under your eyes, you can look younger for several years.
- Because of aging and sun damage, your face may show wrinkles, laxity, and pigmentation. Your cheek fat pads decrease as you age. PRF injections can compensate for lost midfacial volume.
- It aids in smoothing the wrinkles, fine lines, and other signs of aging.
- PRF smooths out scars and evens out your skin tone.
- You can use PRF injections to achieve an even skin tone.
- It boosts the body’s collagen production, improving skin tightness and overall appearance.
- Because PRF is derived from your own blood, there is no risk of an allergic reaction or negative side effects.
